All is calm.
…a sample of work I am collecting for a new portfolio and other projects.
“The wind is terrific out of the west; the sun comes and goes. I can see the shadow on the field before me deepen uniformly and spread like a plague. Everything seems so dull I am amazed I can even distinguish objects. And suddenly the light runs across the land like a comber, and up the trees, and goes again in a wink: I think I’ve gone blind or died. When it comes again, the light, you hold your breath, and if it stays you forget about it until it goes again.”

Foggy clear day.
I’m in a whirlwind of writing, and making, and discovering, piecing things together, lines of code, lines of text, books and photographs, sketches, and lists, and lists. I forget breakfast and I forget lunch, breakfast becomes dinner. I steal hugs from my boy the few times I descend the stairs for glasses of water and cups of coffee. I cross things off those lists as fast as I can, but leaving room for learning. A thesis project is under way, amidst many more projects. The two photographs above are part of this project. I will not say much of it yet. I write so much, and so much that I realized how little of myself I was putting into this journal up until August. All these words piling up here, and all of the ones due at the ends of weeks, clear the air a little. I always go back to writing and I always have, and now I am happy that my work requires so much of it. I just need to slip some rest and a little more food in between these words.
