This is a recording of Franz Schubert’s Impromptu No 3 in G Flat Major by Alexandre Tharaud. His performance has transformed this composition into a favorite of mine; new love. Immediately I am tempted to learn this song, but doing so would change the way I listen and so I will leave it be.

We might recall today’s sky as an angry one, throwing itself violently this way and that,
building itself upward and dropping back down onto the city.
I drove with a sickness in my head and in my chest. I drove inside of a cloud, the road nearly gone and blinking lights ahead,
More rain, and then hail tapping on the car when I drove in quick sunlight.
The east mountains were removed from the landscape with a white brush and I was cold all the morning.
I hide from the weatherman and pretend that tomorrow will be as today.
